Crafted with care,
served with pride
Every plate at Rays' carries the weight of seven decades — recipes passed down, ingredients chosen with care, and a standard that never slipped.
The kind of diner that makes you want to pull up a stool and stay a while.
A Fairfax tradition
built to last
Rays' Dairy Diner opened its doors on East Main Street when Fairfax was still a town that knew its neighbors by name. What began as a modest counter-service spot with a handful of stools and a dream has grown into something far more enduring — a cornerstone of this community.
For over seven decades, the standard has remained unchanged: honest food prepared with real ingredients, served with a warmth that can't be rushed or replicated. The same recipes that filled these booths decades ago are still on the menu, because when something works, you don't fix what isn't broken.
Today, Rays' remains exactly what it was meant to be — a place where the coffee stays hot, the portions are generous, and every guest is treated like family. That's not a marketing line. It's simply how we've always done it.
"The best diners aren't built on fancy techniques or trendy ingredients. They're built on showing up every single day and doing the work right."
